Question by Mr. Tack Driver: Would you consider a hydroponics system worth the cost & work involved?
Really annoyed that I have to wait 3 months to start my garden again. How much would you spend on a hydroponics system?
Feel free to answer in the comment section below
Oh yes.

Here are the factors I would weigh:
Pros:
My outdoor garden is subject to all sorts of factors that are either totally out of my control or mostly: E.g., the weather, pests, trees (growing or falling down), houses (one was erected JUST south of my Puget Sound garden 🙁 ) . . . , vandals, theft, etc.
I also have to keep watering and fertilizing the outdoor garden, when that’s already taken care of with a hydroponic system.
Then there are harvesting issues, but most of these also have to do with weather for an outdoor garden .
Convenience of having the garden inside and protected.
Cons:
More setup time; leaks in any hydraulic system; pump maintenance; indoor humidity issues, noise.
Provision of lighting system (HPS lights and ballast). Water condition maintenance.
I think the Pros for a hydroponic system outweigh the Cons for me!

No…The Flavors not there, and you’re forcing a plant to grow out of season, and that doesn’t work.
Notice that commercially it’s better and cheaper to ship from a country that’s in season.
