25 Responses to Wind Turbine Generator
I always knew there had to be a better use for stop signs.
ive built two so far, useless to be fair, used a tredmill motor, i get a lot more reliable power to charge my 2 12v deep cycle batterys with a 50w mono panel.
i did really enjoy building them so not to put anyone off.
a good motor (not cheap)is the only way to go with hawt or vawts.
happy building.
I have a 180 volt generator myself. I am on my way to put it together. But what do i do to make 180 volts into 12 volts? This part is stressing me out.
What do i do? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
when the produced voltage is inferior to the battery one, they do not charge, but if you do not place any diode between the motor and the battery, i think the battery will make the wind generator spin. no?
The amtex 38 will work but you need to gear it up. The Amtex 30 would have been better. or Amtex 90 the best, but trying to find them, thats the hard part
to the guy that posted the video. I dont know anything about power at all but am going to build a wind turbine. I am not interested in anyones comments nor will i read them except for the owner of this video. with that turbine how many light bulbs could I light at once say they are 60 watt bulbs and thats all i want to know. Thank you.
You actually need to produce more voltage to start charging the battery. There are PMA generators that look like a regular car alternator, but they are modified for wind turbines. Produce power at low RPMs. A regulat car alternator requires too many RPMs, which is too fast for wind application.
The other way for you to lessen your daily expenses in your energy consumption is to generate your own electricity. This can happen by simply using wind turbines in producing wind energy with this device. This can help a lot in your finances. The effectiveness of wind turbines was already tested by other countries and can now be seen in most household around the world. This can also be used as a good replacement for generator.
no you need to be making more power than the battery for the electricity to flow into it…. Eg. you can only fill a water tank from a river if the river is higher than the tank……
Even if is isn’t generating 12v would it still trickle charge a 12v battery and how long do you think this would take? Why didn’t you use a car alternator?
Also If you made the blades larger do you think you could gear it to spin the motor faster? Thank you.
Wider blades or more blades would do the trick. Also using PVC is extremely dangerous as it deteriorates in the sun and will eventually become very sharp shrapnel flying through the air. You should for sure consider using gearing as that’s really how wind turbines make power.
Free energy can change the world! But some very powerfull ppl don’t want you and me to be free from energy costs,Get a real free energy motor at LT-MAGNET-MOTORdotCOM ,take part in the revolution!

I like the simplicity of your generator, nice job!

Beware Missouri Wind and solar’s PMA- They do not work. I have 2 of them and neither of them worked as promised

You use a blocking diode in series with the positive wire. Basicly acts like a one way valve for current to flow one direction.

if you hook it to a battery to charge it, what stops the power from the battery just running the mottor
