Short video about the configuration of my wind turbine charge controller setup. It shows the connections from bridge rectifier to charge controller to batter…

OK, now its time for the most important video you will make. A results and durability video for all the materials you have used for the last 4+ years. The windmax, the little china grid tie units, inverters you have gone through, batteries you have chosen and why (I use centennials by trojan) and all the items based on durability and quality verses junk that you would now avoid.
A VERY important video to all of us following your work. You are the MAD scientist of wind and solar!
This is pretty good. I have just ordered a 12 V 200 Watt wind turbine and 12 V 200Watt Solar panel with hybrid 12V charge controller and a 96V 5KV Inverter. I therefore need a 96V battery bank.
Can I charge the battery bank with the 12V Hybrid Charge controller?
Thanks
Ok I think i will definitly get in touch with them! Hope they can post outside the states … Thx a lot for your support!
All the best to you all my friends!!!
You can find all you want for your DIY turbine by going to an eBay store called Coleman Air Parts, they have the rectifier in a box already assembled for you, they have charge controllers and dump loads for what you need. If you’re not sure what you need, contact the seller and they will help you select the right model for your size turbine. They really make good products and are very helpful.
Thank you for your answer, unfortunately i have a home made wind turbine with a capacity of about 1 or 2 kw (c my video) I need to find all the parts for it such as charge controller with dump load, inverter, diode batteries … I guess they are many different systems to choose from and all have different capacity. This is where i really need help to choose and understand what to buy… I am using 24 N50 neodynium round shape 5 cm* 1.5 cm and 9 coils of 18 gauges/ 260 turns each….
If charging with solar panels you don’t need a dump load. If you are using a wind turbine then you’ll need charge controller and dump load. contact the folks at Coleman Air and they will help you select a charge controller and dump load. If you buy a WindMax wind turbine, then it will already come with the charge controller and dump load- which is one reason I recommend them so highly. They will save you money and charge better than others out there. God bless you.
Does every charge controller come with the diversion system?
How can i choose the right charge controller? and how do i choose the right dump load? Sorry for all these questions but i am a bit confused in what to buy next for my turbine ;o( Please HELPPPP !!! lol thanks
That should not be a problem, the voltage is really regulated by the batteries so as long as the batteries are connected your wind turbine voltage will stay within a few volts of that battery bank voltage. The main difference you’ll find is that when the batteries are full the solar charge controller will open the circuit and disconnect the turbine – which is fine.
Thanks buddy! It will get more cleaned up in the next few weeks but more components will added as well so I’m afraid it will look fairly complicated because I’m mounting two more inverters to the board and adding the second turbine plus the Amp & Volt meters for both and additional disconnects. I will be posting another video this weekend with the existing tower being raised from 40′ to 55′. If that holds well then I’ll raise the second turbine on a parallel tower.

Not at all, the blocking diode is upstream of the batteries and the dump load.

if you are using your dump resistors to slow down the turbine will that doide you have
cause a problem because of current flowing one way ?

can you put the electricity from a small wind turbine through a normal charge controller (7 amp) that came with a solar panel?

Nice setup, good luck with expansion!
How much has the rig cost to implement so far!?
