Question by : Will peking ducks raise ducklings that are not their own?
My family recently bought peking ducks. If we would buy ducklings from Tractor supply, would they raise them? I think there are 2 females and 1 male.

  1. They may if they already had ducklings the same age they were raising. But in this case, no. Pekins are not very broody by nature, so you are lucky if they hatch their own eggs.
If you buy ducklings from TSC, or anywhere for that matter, you’ll need to put them in a brooder like they have at the store (not necessarily exactly like it, but some kind of box with a heat lamp to keep them warm).

  2. Peking ducks are not broody….that is they will not sit and hatch eggs….a duck will not take ducklings unless she has hatched them…..you will need a brooder to keep the ducklings in until they are feathered out….
