One Response to Why is sustainable agriculture important from a Socio-economic perspective?

  1. In a lot of countries, there are so many farmers that they cannot efficiently work the land. Result is a wage that is often below the subsistence wage. (think about sub-saharan Africa.) Sustainable agriculture would help get some of these people out of agriculture so that the farmers who are left are able to generate a surplus and sell it on the market for a living wage. Does that answer your question properly?

As for an example… there are probably some programs in more-developed African nations such as Kenya.
