Wondering why chevre cheese is purely goat .
Is there a cheese just like chevre made with cow?
I KNOW CHEVRE MEANS GOAT

“Chevre” means goat.

Because that’s what chevre means – it’s the French word for goat. If you make it with anything else, that’s fraud.

You can follow a recipe for chevre cheese using cow’s milk, and you’ll get a pleasant, mild, fresh cheese, you just can’t call it chevre.
