Question by Melody: When is it the most dangerous for my cat to be out?
I live on a farm, and we own horses, pigs, goats, chickens, and MANY dogs (our female just recently had about 11 puppies). I’ve had him for two years and he keeps trying to go outside. Every time we let him out, he somehow gets into the attic and will stay up there for days and won’t come out until he’s lost about 2 lbs (he was 20 lbs when this started, and is now 12). He’s an indoor cat, and I just want to keep him safe.

  1. Cats are funny that way. They own us and we are there for their convienence. Nthing wrong with keeping him in the house. It is safer that way. I have raised three litter of kittens and they are all indoor. They have become accustomed to being inside cats. They feel safer in the house. But they do like to roam. We, my husband and I letthem out on sunny days and they stay onyl in te backyard and don’t even climb the fence. (Which is kinda weird but cool.) They stay out for about 2 hrs and when we open the the side door to our garage they come running back inside. They are denning animals and like stay close to home. That is probably why your cat goes in the attic. And possibly rats. Heads up on that.

At night to answer your original quest.
