Question by Animemadness: What to use for cows milk free mash?
Which would be better soy milk or powdered goats milk?
I was thinking of making mustard mash.
I heard soy milk goes well with garlic mash.
Thx for all the answers rickey thats one of the best ideas i have heard 🙂

  1. I used to drink soya products a lot, it goes pretty well with everything except tea/coffee. I think it would be fine with mash and give the same result as cows milk.

  3. I would use goat’s milk. It would give a slightly cheesy, tangy flavour but then if you use it regularly you will be aware of it’s flavour, and the mustard will probably overpower that anyway.

    You could try soy milk I suppose but to me it seems a bit wishy-washy for mash.

  4. One time I ran out of milk and used Mayonaise and a little mustard it was gorgeous.

  5. If I wanted non-dairy mash, I’d mix it with a light salad dressing.

  6. Boil the potatoes in their skins, peel after cooking, mash, then add a raw egg and mash again.

  7. Actually a nice chicken stock or broth would work very nicely and give it a little different taste from the same old boring mash!!
