They’re just a few months old. Raised by a friend and handled a lot by the neighborhood kids when they were small. They will let you get really close but don’t love being petted. They are very chatty, and make lots of soft noises when you get close to them. So sweet!

Question by : what kind of ducks should i get for my pond?
My Grandma just moved into the house next to ours. She has a fairly large pond but its infested with mosquitoes. A friend of my dads said that ducks would be good to have around. There’s lots of fish in the lake and there’s algae too. We’ve never had ducks before… what kind should we get?

  2. Mallards are pretty cool, you can get them in the spring from TSC as babies, so you can hand raise them so they’re friendly.

Peking ducks (like Aflac), are really sweet. We have one named Waddles and he’s the best duck.

Call Ducks are soooo cute! They’re so small and petite. They’re super friendly and used for petting zoos. I think those are you best bet.

    Geese and Swans are agressive.

  4. Interesting question! I didn’t think you could get the ducks to stay in the pond.I thought they left for winter and might never return.
