The garden final takes some sort of shape – the compost heap goes to the back wall where it’s going to stay, the concrete slap is broken up and shifted out, the flower beds down the south fence starts to fill with soil, and the earth montain is nicely coming down in size. Both fences are treated and the base of the south fence is whitewashed.
Question by The Jolly Roger: What kind of bug is this that is in my garden soil?
It buries itself in the soil and has an orangish-type head and legs but the body is almost see through. Will it harm my fruit/vegetable garden?
Can you help? Leave your own answer in the comments!

THAT is a grub worm (june bug larvae) and yes it will harm your produce 🙁 I have them in my yard too.
What they do is they eat the roots off your plants. Good news is that you can go to a local feed store or home improvement store (Lowes) and they should be able to help you find something to take care of those little buggers.

The grub in your soil is a white grub, also called a grubworm or grass grub, the larva stage of scarab beetles. These grubs attack turf as well as ornamental plants. There are multiple ways to get rid of them. They do not normally pose a problem but in large numbers they can destroy your plants

Most definitely a grub. Could be from a June bug, but it’s more than likely from a Japanese beetle. And yes, they will harm your garden fruits and veggies. They can also harm your lawn.
There are a ton of things you can do to get rid of them, but the most effective way is with a product called Milky Spore. You can get it at any garden shop or big home improvement store.
Anyway, like I said, there are LOTS of things you can do. If you’re interested, check out the link below.
