New cage for the ducklings. They are having a blast running around.
Question by Becca: What kind of a duckling am I raising here?
I just rescued a duckling on the side of the road! It was chirping like crazy and the mom was nowhere in sight. Anyway, I was wondering what species of duck I have? It is yellow and black with two black stripes across the bottom and top of its eyes.
The pond is populated with mallards and muscovies but I’m just not sure about this one.

Hi,
Sounds like a mallard duckling. Muscovies usually have brown down feathers instead of black, but I will provide pictures so you can compare them. Also, mayeb you should put the duckling around the ducks and see if any of the other ducks respond to it. Watch it, though, they may attack it. If not, you need to learn how to raise them.
