Question by meatsickles: What is the best food to feed a pet possum?
I went to the pet store with stinky on a leash. He loves the outdoors. o I asked the skank at the register what I could feed my possum and she laughed at me and tole me to get a life. Stinky was upset and hissed at her. They say they have never heard of possum food. I told her Ive been feeding stinky chicken bones for years and he seems ok with it. So I bought frozen mice for stinky.

I microwaved them and tasted one of them and I reckoned stinky would like it. He tried some and he was in possum heavan

  1. So, if you found that he likes defrosted mice, why are you asking what to feed him?

  3. Seriously…my step-sisters dad has raised many orphaned possums from babies. He feeds them cat food. They ones that visit our yard eat the dog kibbles that we put out for the raccoons (we had feed some of the wild ones that come to visit!)
I know they also enjoy grapes!!
Hope that helps…enjoy yer frozen sticky mouse breath! Ew!!

  4. I’m very surprised there’s no opossum chow. You might want to look it up. In the mean time there’s a home recipe.

  7. I did not realize you had a microwave in your trailer, maybe this is the time to suggest: rather than microwaving mice for stinky; try microwaving poe poe in there and then feed it too stinky . YYYeeee hawww giddyup.

  9. Ok, then. Question solved. You and stinky can sit down together for a nice microwaved mouse dinner.

  11. Oh, you’re supposed to eat possum…not feed it. Well, perhaps you are trying to fatten Stinky up for just that. In that case, go for moldy pineapple. I hear that mold pineapple makes the possum meat taste better.

  12. Feed opossums a high quality dry kitten food or dry ferret food. They love crickets and mealworms. Provide fresh fruit/veggies several times a week
