  1. It will hurt. And the bee will die.

  6. For the bee, its fatal. For you , it depends. The worst possible reaction is anaphylactic shock, it can result if you are seriously allergic. The moist tissues of the nose and throat swell closing off the air passages. This is a call 911 emergency. I get a raised white welt about two inches in diameter which continues to itch and burn for 24-48 hours, a red area around the welt about 1-2 inches , and I get serious swelling about 1 1/2- 2 feet around that. The whole area is hot to warm. Sometimes a few days later it will start itching intensely, and it continues for two or three days. When I was stung on the toe, the swelling was nearly to my knee. If I were to be stung in the face or upper body it would be a serious emergency. When my son got stung he had a pink spot smaller in diameter than a pencil eraser which completely disappeared in half an hour. He said it stung a little for a few minutes when he was first stung, but that didn’t last as long as the red spot. For you, it would be somewhere in that range.

How you take out the stinger is important. There is a small sac that contains venom, attached to the stinger. Trying to grab the stinger (with tweezers perhaps) you will end up injecting more venom into yourself and whatever the reaction is, it will be worse. You want to get something you can scrape with and use a flicking motion to dislodge the stinger without squeezing the venom sac. Something thin and strong credit card is often suggested. Afterward ice helps, so does applying a baking soda paste to the sting. Check out this video to see how to do it http://www.ehow.com/video_4997573_remove-bee-stinger.html
