Are you looking to eat them, or have them provide nitrates for the plants? If you are going to eat the fish Tilapia are commonly used around the world in Hydroponic Fish Farms…they harvest the fish and they grow vegetables in the water that the fish swim in. If you are just looking to use the nitrates I would use Coy/Koi/Koy (I`ve seen it spelled a bunch of different ways.) They`re essentially gold fish or carp.
