Question by ~: What do you think of this family arrangement?
Two men (A & B) are in a same-sex relationship and can’t have biological children, obviously. B’s sister donates egg. Child is produced. A is the real father. B is the uncle and they are raising the child as if their own. The sister can’t be an aunt because she is the mother and B’s partner is the father. Just wondering if the child will grow up confused? I was just wondering.
What do you think? Answer below!
The child is going to have a difficult life anyway. Clearly the child will know that he/she did not come from the two men which may be difficult to explain when most people have trouble telling the regular version of the birds and the bees. HOWEVER…
The sister is just the egg donor. If they treat her as an aunt, and the kid only knows her as an aunt relationship-wise (even if the kid knows she was the egg donor), then there’s no difference what-so-ever to her being the aunt biologically. The child will always associate the two men as his/her “Parents”.

I agree, just because the sister is an egg donor doesn’t mean that she is REALLY the mum, the people who you call your parents are the ones that look after you and don’t necesarilly have to be biological.

Only if you give the child this scenario. Love the child and raise him well and the child will be fine. Relationships are not based on the person’s title but how they interact with others.
