In terms of production, China had a substantial lead in 2004 by producing 30,614,968 (30.6 million) Tonnes, which was 5% more then its production in 2002. India was second with a little over 2.4 million Tonnes.
In terms of growth, Myanmar was the fastest growing production with a 45% growth between the years of 2002 and 2004, though its overall production was only 400,360 Tonnes in 2004.
