3 Responses to What are all the Skyrim DLC expansions?
1.Dawnguard- The Xbox 360 version of Dawnguard launched in English-speaking territories on June 26, 2012. It focuses around the return of Lord Harkon, the ruler of an ancient Vampire clan named the Volkihar. Harkon wishes to use the powers of the Elder Scrolls to blot out the sun, allowing Vampires to overwhelm Tamriel.
2. Hearthfire- The second add-on for Skyrim, Hearthfire, was released on September 4, 2012 for Xbox 360 and October 4, 2012 on PC. he add-on allows the player character to purchase a plot of land and build their own home from raw materials such as lumber and clay, with the option of adding greenhouses, bee hives and alchemy/enchanting facilities. Hearthfire also introduces the option to raise a family by adopting children.
3. Dragonborn- Dragonborn was released on December 4, 2012, initially only for the Xbox 360. The DLC’s first trailer, released on November 5, 2012, revealed that it will allow the player to ride Dragons, and that the plot will revolve around the return of the first Dragonborn/Dovahkiin to the island of Solstheim (previously featured in Bloodmoon, an expansion of Morrowind, the third game in the series).
There isn’t really any news on any new DLC because Dragonborn just came out. However the Dragonborn DLC will come to PS3 and PC early 2013.
The current available Skyrim DLCs are Dawnguard, Hearthfire and Dragonborn. In Dawnguard, you choose between supporting the vampires or vampire hunters. As a vampire lord, you get a special transform ability that makes you sort of a mega vampire. As Dawnguard (the vampire hunters) you get access to two different crossbows and crossbow bolts. Some crossbow bolts explode in shock, ice or fire damage when they strike something. Vampire lords can get crossbows too, but only the basic one and nonenchanted steel bolts. Also included in the DLC are a few new weapons, armor sets, spells and shouts. The current price is 1600 Microsoft points for 20 dollars
Hearthfire allows you to build your own house from scratch and adopt children. It also includes several new food items and cooking recipes. It can be bought for 400 Microsoft Points for 5 dollars.
Dragonborn sends you to the island of Solstheim to fight a particularly powerful foe. It includes the most new content out of all the DLCs by far including many new weapons, armor, spells, shouts, a few new player houses and more! It can be bought for 1600 Microsoft points for 20 dollars, the same price as Dawnguard but in my opinion, has far more content and new stuff!
1. Hearthfire, which allows you to make your own house and adopt children. It’s a cool addition, though once you start building a house, it kind of sucks you in, and you become addicted to completing the house.
2. Dawnguard, which adds a new questline, new items, new characters, new places, etc. You can be on the Vampire’s side, or on the Humans side. I chose the Vampires side accidentally, because I couldn’t get anyone to cure me of being a werewolf, and if you turn in to a vampire, it gets rid of your Lycanthropy.
3. Dragonborn, which adds a new map, new questlines, new items, new character, new places, etc. I don’t know much about it, but I do know you get to go back to Morrowind. I am a PC gamer, so I have to wait until next year for it.
