Useful TIPS for growing tomatoes using hair, banana peels and eggshells!

This is how I plant my tomatoes using banana peels for potassium, eggshells for calcium and pet or human hair which adds sulfur and trace minerals to the soil. I started my tomato seedlings using the Praxxus55712 method. I filled plastic cups about 1/4 of the way with potting soil and planted my tomato seeds in there then as they grew I covered them up with more potting soil. The result is a very healthy tomato plant with lots of roots and a nice thick stem 🙂 Sorry about the wind… I’m in the mid-west and it was particularly windy yesterday.

  1. @jujutubes I’ve had good luck growing peas with corn stalks:) If you get time look up a method of growing called “3 sisters garden”. Cool stuff:)

  2. @mat2dong Sure I don’t see why rabbit fur wouldn’t work! I was planning to grow the peas with the tomatoes, but they grew too much and shaded out my tomatoes. I like to try different things in the garden. Tomatoes and peas together didn’t work for me lol. I’m glad you found my video informative. Happy growing 🙂

  3. Very informative video there jujutubes! Rabbit hair would work as well you think? My rabbit sheds like crazy maybe 2 times a year and if I can save some for my tomatoes I’m sure they would love it.

So, are you going off the 3 sisters garden idea with the snow peas?

  12. @Jenna08848 hehehe Those are snow peas. I’m not sure if they will produce for us because the weather here is nuts. It feels like it just went from winter straight into summer… where the heck is spring? lol. I really like interplanting different things together! I’m growing perennial onions with chamomile (yum TEA!) behind the onions and behind that I will trellis either muskmelons or cukes… or both! I have a digital camera now so i can make videos with it 🙂
