  1. I had chickens for a short time and also had one “surprise” rooster. I
don’t know the technical terms which are correct but if the suspected bird
starts to grow like extra claw looking things out of its middle and upper
legs where none of the others will grow these things, it is the early sign
it is a rooster. I told you it wouldn’t be technical – LOL. Anyway, if you
start noticing these growths (like what their claws are made of) say
around where the knee joint would be on a human, it is a rooster. About a
couple weeks after noticing this, you will get your first
“cock-a-doodle-do”. There goes sleeping in late – LOL! I live where there
is an HOA and was trying to get away with it but once this started, I knew
I had to get rid of him as the HOA Nazi police would be close behind. The
chickens also got noticeably louder then as well. I think to impress the
rooster. So, I had to get rid of all of them. How do you do that? I had no
idea so one day, a nearby farmer ended-up with 5 extra chickens and a
rooster – they must have fallen out of the sky according to him.

  4. I had a dog years ago. Its real name was Heidi, but since I was always
yelling “Goddammit!” at it, thats what it thought its name was. So
basically, I had a dog named Goddammit.

  6. Love the dog he looked like he was busted trying to dig in to the pen.. Can
you show us the pen? I am getting some this spring we are in the city limit
so we can have 6 hens no roosters. Also How high is your fence? I don’t
think mine will be tall enough.

  7. Nice coop set up. I’ve have chickens. Lost some to raccoons, check out my
backyard chickens videos. I had the police come to my door years ago and
told me I had to kill my rooster. Neighbors complained, Like you I got them
as chicks and one turned out to be a rooster.. So now I buy them when there
4-5 months old to avoid that problem.

  11. Nice! Too bad you can’t keep roosters also. They do a goOd job protecting
    hens from snakes n owls.

  12. wow you keep those poor chickens in that cage? that is disgusting they are
members of the earth too and should have freedom and shouldn’t be subject
to your animal cruelty. all animals deserve our respect. in my opinion
somebody should report you to the epa and PETA.
