A quick update on how large the volunteer melon has grown! It’s really starting to look like a cantaloupe now.

@ArizonaAdventures yes I had a great harvest this year. over 500 tomatoes and other veggies. you can see all my veggies on my facebook page under mobile uploads. be cool
@SteveHarpster thats cool! I’ll have to check out some of your videos and see what else I should try and grow. The desert sure seems like a whole nother world doesnt it 🙂

@mhpgardener This is our first time growing melons/squash. It had to come from a melon we bought at some farmers market which means I’m hoping it should do well in this climate. I think the shape is just it growing at a good pace right now, but it sure seems happy whatever it is, lol. I’ve been tyold that they are ready to eat when you can just barely tug on them and they come off the vine…I hope it makes it to harvest 🙂

Does that look like a variety that you’ve grown before? I know you said it came from your compost, so it would make sense that you grew it or bought it, then put the waste in the compost pile. Its an odd shape for sure.
