  1. From what I have heard Turkeys can become too aggressive for much smaller
chicken chicks. Especially the Toms as they mature and come into season.
They aren’t usually mixed with chickens until the chickens are adults and
able to defend themselves by outrunning turkeys.

  7. i have a rir rooster and i was worried when i added some small hens to the
flock this yr. but he(ernest) actually stopped one of his hens from pecking
on the smaller hens.he grabed her by her neck feathers and moved her from
the coop area to the scratch yard and crowed at her then turned around. lol
i was amazed…. he is a keeper.. love the vids and god bless–mrs.cntrshot

  8. The baby chickens and turkeys look great. I live with-in the city limits
that don’t allow roosters. Is there a bird I can get that would protect my
chickens from the neighborhood cats? Would a turkey protect my chickens,
    maybe a goose?

  10. You have to flip them on their back and look under their tail feather,
males have penis, very small but you will see a very little bump

  15. Let me tell you something about araucana roosters. I had one a couple of
years ago that helped hens raise chicks, attacked the younger roosters when
they would over mate hens, and scare off rats from getting into nests. Keep
your roosters. You wont regret it.

  16. Good to hear you are enjoying the turkeys. I will have to try and get a
few. Plus nothing like eating your own turkey you raised for Xmas and
    Thanksgiving dinner right?
