Tilapia is a type of African Cichlid (frontosa to be specific) that is what’s called a mouth brooder. Many Cichlids and most Frontosas are mouth brooders, also other fish like Arawanna’s will do the same thing. Pacu fish in particular are kind of hard to breed in captivity (they like big ponds and eat their own eggs), many fish farmers use pituitary injections to induce breeding then harvest eggs and sperm to mix it manually. Cichlids by the way are incredibly smart, and very entertaining.
This is a great video to share with our students. Our fish will never do this with so many watching. Keep up the great work, glad to stumble on your channel.

can you guys put up more vids on your aquaponic system
One Queen Honey Bee Lays 2,000 to 3,000 Eggs PER DAY. I would like to get some of my Lorge Honey Bees inside your greenhouses, the pollination and SEED SET as we call it can double your fruit and vegetable produce for flowering food crops. Email me at LorgeATLorgeHoneyDOTcom …I love your videos and projects.
We are spawning them by the thousands to raise funds for our non profit to establish sustainable communities in the most difficult places on earth. This is one more way to create economy from the inside out.

Do all fish hatch their fertized eggs in their mouth or only Tilapia? I am especially interested in the Pacu fish.

Love it! Thank you guys. The narrator did a fantastic job! You make me want to go out there and start my own backyard tilapia cultivation.

That is fantastic! I’ll take 100 (not yet, but yes when I finally re-establish my aquaponics) Seriously that was fun. Thanks for sharing. 🙂
