Hey there Cory.
There’s no way that I know of to induce broodiness except to leave a few eggs in a nest (which gives them the idea to lay eggs). You’re off to a good start by having game hens and silkies- they make the best mothers!
Dr. Smith (w/ the Lost in Space voice) sooooo I’m an agriculture kid and have heard of many using Silkies as brood hens. What is one way to actually get the hens to start setting eggs? I have game hens and there is one in particular who lays off in the woods and always comes back w/ chicks 10-15 at a time. Is it a seasonal (sunlight/pituitary) thing? Cory
