Prop turbines are ridiculous because: 1) They’re top heavy and prone to fall in high winds 2) They’re hard to reach for repairs 3) They kill birds 4) Need a lot of wind to turn props 5) They tend to over-rev in storms, and burn up or props fail, whereas the vertical-axis turbine has none of those faults. Why are they using props then? Only to increase the cost of maintenance and repairs, then charge the consumer for costs that could have been avoided.

  4. Vestas has maybe the most sold wind turbines in the world, but that doesn’t mean that those wind turbines are good. Maybe you should search for Vestas wind turbine accidents around YouTube, and then,
    change your opinion of those turbines.

  18. Amazing how the big wind turbine compaies put all their eggs in one basket. They will all be in trouble if the propeller type of wind turbine looses it’s acceptance as the most efficient.
