TEDxYouth@Pittsburgh – Jonathan Walker and Anthony Hrubetz – Beekeeping

“Our presentation will be about beekeeping and the beekeeping elective that we attend with our classmates. Creating a greater public understanding of bees, their contribution to the environment, and our obligation to ensure their well being will be the focus.” Jonathan Walker and Anthony Hrubetz are both seniors at Propel Andrew St. High School, where they have been enrolled since it opened in the fall of 2008. They are founding members of the beekeeping project, which began in the spring of 2010. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
