  4. I attempted that and actually found that it was a huge pain in the butt.
Although it helped in the collection of solids, if you did not change out
the floss every 24 hours it caused backups in the system and caused
overflows. In the next version I am going to make for the bigger fishery
adaptation, I will use an IBC tote for the filter and will add in a
secondary media filter prior to the bio filter and sump. (stay tuned for
    the update).

  5. Yes, and it is something I am going to eventually do. I am going to put a
filter just over the 5 gallon bucket to keep all of the debris in drain
catch. Being a DIY though, I want ot make sure that this unit is going to
work solidly for a while before I go messing with the flow of things and
    end up screwing things up.

  6. Yes, the Uniseals are a huge help in aquaponics and I recommend them to
everyone. They are a lot cheaper than a bulkhead and work very well.

  7. I like the use of UniSeals. I just learned about them, and they are
considerably cheaper than buying a load of pipe fittings, quicker to
install to how you want them, and no stinky glue!

  11. Usually the issue with an overflow is that your filter barrel is too low.
Try putting something under your filter to lift it higher than the tanks.
The best result is to have the water level in your filter be at about the
same height as the max water level in your tank.
