Who wouldn’t want to have dairy goats with such sweet songs to be heard every morning and evening?

8 Responses to Sugarplum Dairy ~ What is that noise? Nubian Goat, Leah, hollers and yells
why are everyone else’s nubians loud? i have 5 and mine are quiet as can
be, unless they are hungry.
LOL, actually Leah is the loudest of our dairy goats. This video was taken
as I was going out to feed, so she was definitely anticipating that. The
doe kid with her in this video is grown now and seems to have her mother’s
“voice” although she’s not as boisterous. The other girls can be talkative,
but are not not nearly as loud.
LOL I’ve never heard of a quiet Nubian? You must be lucky to have one of
them! I know some of their yell’s/screams can sound very much alike a child
its funny
mine was sooooo loud. but she wudnt just cry wen she was hungry. shed cry
wen i got there and wen i was leaving. then she had a baby. and her baby
started to do it too
LOL! What we think of as loud is just their regular voice. Leah is the
first to be milked in the morning, and usually finishes her feed and has to
wait for the last girl to wrap up. While she’s waiting, Leah and one of her
twins stand right next to each other and yell back and forth the net wire
partition. He is still small, but sounds JUST like her.
Yeah, she’s definitely a yeller. My other Nubian doe is meek and quiet, so
I wasn’t really prepared for Leah! She starts in at least an hour before
evening feed, so I finish out my work day with ear plugs. No way would I
trade that milk though!
Wow! I thought I was the only one with a quiet one! Leah – the yeller –
does this every morning and every evening. You would think she is starving
if you didn’t know that she gets fed quite well twice daily, and has
free-choice hay! I guess she lives up to the reputation – and I have even
had people ask how I can stand to have Nubians! I tell them it’s the ears…
