Question by environgrl: steps for building a duck house or websites that might help?
I need to know how to build a fairly small duck coop with a run, I have looked for it on the internet but I cant find anything on it, my ducklings are just about ready to be moved outside, but we have to build a house for them first. any information on this is appreciated.
I’m not talking about a wood duck house, but a duck coop

  2. Duck coops are even easier to build than chicken coops. All you need is four walls, a roof and pophole.

http://www.backyardchickens.com has lots of nice coop pictures, but you don’t need perches or nestboxes for ducks.

  3. When I raised ducks I used metal ‘dog run’ as their pen. It had a regular chain link door than could be opened and locked when necessary. I had a large plastic tub sunk into the ground of the run for them to use to swim in. I used large flat saucers (they use under plants) to put their grain in. I also kept large saucers of water for them to drink from. Both needed to be kept clean almost daily I also put a corrugated tin roof over the run to keep heavy rains from drowningthe smaller ducks. I would let them roam free during the day but would put them inside their pen at night to keep them safe from “critters”! I found the chain link dog run to be a great pen. They come in various sizes & can be found at Loews or Home Depot or a local Feed Store!
