Very nice set up Dan. Love this idea. For me here in Ft Lauderdale, this
would work fantastic. Anthony.

Sweet man! I would put a tire valve thing on it, that way it could be
pressurized to whatever pressure you desire. I’d like to build one but with
a few tubes for more volume.. better yet you could wire a little 12v air
compressor to it, run a switch down to your shower area with a pressure
gauge that way you can have your desired water pressure. or just make a
switch so when it hits 5 psi it automatically shuts the compressor off,
that’s the way to go..
A man could add more pipes as well and connect them together. Could make
another for potable drinking water or just extra water that could be used
for drinking or refilling your shower.

You should add a bike valve to it. Just drill a hole on the end of your PVC
cap. Cut a 1/2 in ring around the valve of an old bike tube, then inert it
into the hole you made in the PVC from the inside. Use caulking or rubber
cement to secure it. Then as you add pressure to the pipe, using a bike
pump it will tighten the seal. Now you can add high pressure to your hot
water.
You have some interesting ideas indeed. I think you need a pressure relief
valve in your plug in case you drive around with water on-board. As things
are you run a great chance that the valve (arguably the weakest link) will
blow off and damage or injure someone as you have no way of controlling the
temperature inside the pipe. By the way a ‘Y’ valve with a tank of room
temperature water would allow mixing since having made this same ‘rig”‘ 20
years ago, I found that the water in the pipe (the heater) can actually get
too hot and being able to mix it both extends the supply of hot water and
makes the whole rig much more useful. Cheers…

You have so many great idea’s. I hope you don’t mind if I use some of
them.Your van is outstanding from the simple seating to the Solar
Shower. You look like every other contractor I have ever seen.Parked outside
a Home Depot or Wally World nobody could be any the wiser.Thank you again
and please keep the video’s coming.Genius!!!
you are one creative son of a *%&%&. really. that’s awesome brother. you
could teach the nomadic fanatic a few tricks. his shower videos involve
paying $5 at a campground! very creative!!!!!!!!!!!
thats fucking great.. i just need to find a way to mount the thing since i
have no roof racks on the sprinter van.. havent seen any either.. anyway
ill figure it out. does the water get stinky or do you put a cup of bleach
in there like they do in rv tanks?
I like it great idea is she is a five gallon bucket painted black with a
hose bib alright but I like your idea of having it on the roof here’s an
idea drill a hole in the center of your field cap hair chalk on it then you
can take a bicycle pump in about 15 20 pumps it give you about 5 to 8
pounds of pressure works pretty cool works with a bucket anyway check out
my SchoolI bus man Jim 101 I got some cool ideas on there too

I’m thinking of doing the same except I’ll be putting a breather valve at
the back end, excellent video BTW 🙂

I have not seen anybody do this using large dimeter PVC….awesome and
thank you!

Before you added the tire valve, did you need to leave the cap off to
prevent vacuum or was there some other kind of vent I missed?

Awesome man! I’ll probably end up making one. One of the most creative van
videos I’ve seen on YT so far.

If the pipe is 4 inches in diameter and is 10 feet long, the pipe will hold
just over 26 gallons of water.

really cool, but I guess one side needs to be slightly on a incline so the
water comes out a bit more?

The pipe has to be black to absorb the heat. White PVC wont get as hot.
