  1. Superb example. Simple, repeatable, repairable and low cost + you get to drink the beer !
    Wolfgang Buchner is a master of the piratical use of what is available and what is possible to provide something as essential as clean use of water for the people who need it.
    Wolfgang and those around him deserve the highest praise. what they do is so important at such a basic level and makes a huge difference to so many every day.

  2. Each tube expands and contracts differently depending on where it is in the box and what time of day it is. Also, PVC fittings with reducers close to what is used here may not be available where he lives, or may be very pricey. You use what you have, and when it breaks, parts are easy to replace. The manifold looks like copper, though. I would make the unit part of the architecture of the washing ‘station’, if you will, since they took the time to make such a sculptural shower pan and basin. ;.)

  5. why use the bottles and plastic to connect the tubes to the piping? I mean couldn’t you have made the entire thing of pvc with better glued seas?
