SHTF Worm Farm Part I

This video is pointed toward the fresh food problem with SHTF WROL situation as well as organic gardening and doing it all on a budget. I know we are all storing food for a rainy year or so, but you can’t store fresh food. You can grow it and this is a way to make it grow fast and large. You can also replenish your soil with this stuff for the next growing cycle.

  4. @thespaniard47 Thanks! I think it’s absolutely essential to learn how to garden before you actually NEED to garden. I learned a lot from this experiment with my tomatoes and peppers. I’ll be doing a video on that soon…

  9. Don’t need a fancy valve just some holes in the bottom container so it will drain the tea into a tub that can be poured into a jug everday; simple as that.

  10. @YoungAndPrepping Yes, just have to look at the little # inside of recycle symbol. In fact I haven’t found any of these containers that aren’t food grade. I’m sure there are some but I didn’t find any. Some are not marked and therefore I didn’t use them.

  11. @YoungAndPrepping Dont’ know, they died anyway because they froze. Forgot to bring them in one night when it was going down to about 25 degrees. I didn’t put fertilizer in with potatoes anyway. When using them for other veggies, fertilizer just like earthbox does.

  16. using an anglestop would reduce thread width down to less than a half an inch. Otherwise with that hose bib your using, drill a hole slightly smaller than the 3 quarter iron pipe threading on that bib, and thread directly into the plastic only using the first 4 to 5 threads.

  18. @MegaKg9 I’ll bet! I’m thinking of using them to replenish my potting mix in my buckets/container garden instead of just tossing it every growing season. It’ll be hard to find if SHTF so I’m trying to think ahead. Also great for fishing! My brother has a bunch of chickens and these will be great to grab a handful and throw into the coup for protein supplementation for his chickens. He’d need a bigger set up though I think.
