  1. A website for the American Dairy Goat Association could be a start… http://www.adga.org

  2. Its been a long, long time, but yes I did show goats in 4-H. What kind of information are you looking for? I’d start with going to websites like http://www.adga.com (American Dairy Goat Asociation) and see what kind of information you can find. Also, call you county’s local 4-H office and they should be able to put you in touch with club leaders, etc. Have fun!

  5. Your 4-H leader or the 4-H coordinator at the Extension office should know of classes you can take for general showmanship.
Check your county fair book under dairy goats, the name of the superintendent will be listed, call that person they should be able to help you find someone to teach you the fine points of showing a dairy goat.

There are numerous diary goat shows coming up this spring. I would encourage you to go, watch what other people are doing, ask for tips on showing.

Do start training your young goat to walk on a lead, all my dairy goats will walk nicely on a leash.

Best tips for showing your dairy goat; you must wear white (pants and shirt), look neat and professional, know all the body parts of the goat, understand what makes a good milker and what doesn’t. Most importantly you always want to put the goat between you and the judge. Remember you are representing your farm, but showing the goat to someone to be judged.
