the more water the more stable the water tempature , if you are in higher
temp climates you need to have deeper water , lettuce grows best in cooler
waters, warmer waters slow growth
Wow, this is amazing, I love it!! Can someone contact me with information
for a system like this and how it can work in Los Cabos Mexico? Thank you
so much!
@jose carlos. This is the floating raft system. It is the cheapest you can
build. Cheaper than the NFT that you mentioned and a lot less difficult to
build. Make a box 8 ft x 4 ft x 6 inches tall. Put a 6 mil plastic liner,
an aerator and or rocks, water with you nutrient mix. Then take a piece of
styrofoam and cut holes for your plants. Piece of cake. The system that I
described will give you over 100 heads of lettuce every month.
I made a homemade PVC flowing watcer system. Got most of it from a
construction site garbage disposal and just had to arrenge them and fix
them to the wall of my house. I’d say you can make a homemade system with
less than 200 dollars supporting around 40-50 plants.
Anyone else notice this guys beard line? lol It goes straight across, to
each his own, you just dont see that a whole lot, maybe its the norm in his
home country or something. Anyway, awesome lettuce grow in this vid,
I think “some” would be mistaken. Aquaponics is the combination of
Aquaculture (growing fish) and Hydroponics. This is simply one of many
types of Hydroponic methods.

Lettuce doesn’t really need such a fancy temperature control. Just protect
it from strong wind, birds, and snow, I’d say…
