A senior goat showmanship class judged by ADGA Judge Tom Considine. I actually end up winning 🙂

Thanks so much! Yeah, I have a great 4-H leader so we have gone over everything you mentioned =) I’ll say you’re experienced! That’s AMAZING! Thanks again! =)

@skater10222311 I’m sorry… losing animals is always hard. My goat broke it’s leg a week before the fair last year and we put her to sleep a couple of weeks later. It’s tough 🙁
Be sure you know the proper maneauvers like pulling out of a head to tail line and a side by side line and also the ADGA scorecard and goat body parts. Practice working with your goat and setting her up correctly. Best of luck! You can email me with any questions– I’ve shown at the national level, so I’m pretty experienced 🙂 My website has a few pointers too
It ultimately depends on how many people are in the class. Small classes go pretty quickly. If you have a really good judge that likes to test your knowledge, it might take 30 minutes or more. If there is an easy top showman in a relatively small class, it may only take 15 minutes. So, it really depends on the class size and the judge.
How long does showmanship take? I am first year this year and was just wondering…

I’m in a ultimate showman competition and I’m showing for the horses. But you have to show pigs, goats, 2 types of cows, llamas, and sheep i think. I have no idea how to show anything but horses….lol

I’m in FFA, too, but this is just a regular dairy goat show for any breeder. Boer showers typically wear Western attire. Dairy goat showers are required to wear all white, and it is especially important in showmanship. I feel sorry you have to wear OD to shows, that would get really hot in the summer! I’m the only person in my chapter who has goats… so we can’t really do chapter shows.
wow i got first in my senior showmanship class too. we had boers. i also was showin one of the largest goats there. lol and i could also handle mine the best. and im surprised that u all r wearin white!!!! we wear our FFA official dress for everything we show-no matter wat animal. but its also affiliated w/ FFA and we enter shows and fairs as a chapter.

This is a really good video to show new people how a showmanship class works.. We show pygmys, and the classes are almost exactly the same. Congrats on your win!
