    • so what sometimes they need to do that in order to save the babies. its called a C section yes goats can have them done but its better to know what your doing then to just cut the dam open and not sew her back up or call a vet if you want to save both the babies and the doe. She was probably near death anyways so its okay to do that to save the babies if the mother is near death. if she wasnt then O.o hes got issues thats all i gotta say LOL!

  2. This is a stupid question, but does a female goat need to be pregnant to produce milk or do female goats just naturally produce milk? Thanks.

    • you can give them a horomone to make them produce milk without giving birth but its best to breed them and have them produce the milk naturally.

  5. You can freeze the colostrum for future bottle babies. Also, they will not stop eating, it is very easy to create a problem with enterotoxemia by over-feedingbottle babies.

  7. she wont make a “superior milk goat” just because they are bottle fed! And feeding five times a day is crazy….unless you have nothing else to do. i start mine out three times a day

  8. No they will not stop drinking when their full. You need to measure. Their is a LOT to bottle feeding them! They shouldn’t be drinking with their head sideways either, but straight ahead instead.

  10. Have her to hold the bottle so that the baby is reaching. It is much easier for them to drink that way. I raise Toggs.
