Warning: Domesticated mice are safe, but wild mice can carry disease. A lot of people keep wild mice as pets and are fine, but it is always a bit of a risk, something you need to be aware of…

I got a baby mouse from the pet store my snake did not want to eat. She
looks about 7-9 days old at the most. She has some fur but not a lot and
her ears are still laid back. I’ve been trying to care for her. ( I’ve
taken care of one baby mouse before while watching this series
(unfortunately he died while teaching to wean for an unknown reason. He
was about 13 days old. Fluffy little ball with opened eyes. (I got him
while his eyes were still closed and he was very young))) Other than
that… at first I was using this one stuff I found that my little boy
tolerated. (can’t remember the name. But read on a mouse forum it was safe
for fostering.) Formula of all sorts can’t really be found here in any of
the local stores. She did not like that stuff at all. She just refused to
eat it. I finally found one place far out that had Kitten formula she
really likes that stuff. However, she just despises the paint brush method
and it’s such a royal pain trying to get her to get used to it and eat. It
really worries me. I only manage to get a little in her every 30 minutes by
some force. ( By force, I mean hold her as strong but soft as I can
(without hurting her of course) and putting the tooth brush near her mouth
and gently push it in. She still wiggles too much and she will cry loudly.
I don’t want to force her but if I didn’t she’d already be dead.) (I also
know the average is 2 hours but since she hardly eats I try every 30
minutes) She poops a lot i’ve noticed when I get her it was orangey red but
now it looks normal. I have eyedroppers but that method really annoys
me and I doubt that will work.
Earlier this morning I had a piece of toilet paper in my hand while I held
her and some of the formula got on it and my finger was under that wet
spot. She crawled to it and sucked the formula off. She’ll only do it if
there is some kind of hard surface (like my finger) underneath. I took her
off because I didn’t want the toilet paper to get in her system.
I found a baby mouse in my back yard, but when I gave it the massage, it
didn’t pee or poop. This continued for a couple of feedings. What should I
do?
I love this series! It has helped me so much. I found a wild baby mouse
nest in a sack of horse feed, we had to move it, and our cat got 2 of the
babies unfortunately, another died, and I took the remaining 2 home. They
were about 8-9 days old, they had all their fur, except their ears were
still flat with no hair. The weaker one died yesterday morning, so i have
the last one. His ears are furry now and starting to stick out of his head
but his eyes still aren’t open. Do you think they will open soon? Also he
cleans himself after he eats, is that normal? He runs around too, which is
super cute. But he’s gotten fussy eating, which seems normal but worries
me. I feed him puppy replacer formula, should I change it or be persistent
because he will eat it.
Hi im thinking of getting a male and 2 female mice and have them all in the
same cage (its a big cage) i want to breed them and if i do can i keep the
babies in with them or will i have to move the babies to their own home?

My dad found an abandoned baby mouse and I’ve been taking care of her. I
think she’s a white-footed mouse about 2 weeks old. She has opened her
eyes, but still keeps them closed a lot.
These videos have been SO helpful!! I would be lost without them! I do have
a question though…She’s comfortable with me massaging her tummy with my
finger after feeding, but she gets upset when I then clean her bottom with
a moist q-tip. She squeaks and tries to get away, and last time she even
turned and bit the q-tip! I’m wondering if it’s okay for me to leave that
step out at this point, since she obviously doesn’t like it?
I have baby mice, when they were 14 or 15 days old the mother suddenly
deceased and then I looked up information online and bought the cat milk
formula and such as recommended … but they would just come out at night
and eat the soft cat food, a little bit tomato and kitchen garbage, with no
interest in the milk. They also wouldn’t feed off my hand like visible in
the video, instead they would try to escape by making super-risky jumps and
they are naturally scared of human contact so I let them live in peace. A
few days later I also saw them eating hard grains, but the cat food is
always a runner with the mice I had, much better than anything else.
hi, i found a mouse in my barn and am trying to help it survive, I am
feeding it kitten replacement milk, it is in the house and it is warm, but
not to warm inside the house. He is pooping, in small quantities but still
pooping. There is a clicking noise coming her nose, not his mouth, i am
thinking there is milk in her nose maybe from pushing too much in, I don’t
know, will he be ok, and will it be OK if i don’t feed him for 4 hours,
will he die? He looks like The baby in this video. Please answer! Thank
you!
This afternoon my dad was doing yard work and he stumbled onto a litter of
field mice. Unfortunately my dog got to them before me, and there are only
three left, and they are now in my care. They seem rather healthy. From the
research I’ve done I estimate that they are about five days to a week old.
My problem now is that I am in the middle of finals and I need at least
four or six hours of sleep every two days to function during exams. Do you
think it would be okay if I leave them four or six hours every two days?
Hi, my dog just dug out three baby mice out of a river bank and they seem
to be bigger than matilda but their eyes are not opened yet. Should I still
feed them every two hours with kitten formula? How about at nigh? I have no
problem feeding them in the day time but need some shut eyes at night.
I love how she tries to walk closer to the paintbrush even though she is on
your finger. It looks like she’s in some water and paddling with long
strokes through it.
