What is the purpose of having a raised bed garden as opposed to just
planting directly into the ground?
I don’t think you have to worry about plastic, it’s treated lumber or
railroad ties that can leach toxins into the neighboring soil over time.
Hope that helps.
Hey DanO this is a great video thanks for posting. i just have a question
my dad picked up a bunch of used and weathered Plastic Composite Decking
material from work for free i am planning on making raised beds this summer
but i am worried about using this material. what do you think? Would i have
to worry about toxins leaching into the soil?
Good question. For me the best reason is that elevating the soil in this
fashion allows for better drainage and warms the soil a bit earlier in the
spring. Hope that helped!
