This is the first video in a long series on the basics of permaculture, during this series we will be covering the ethics, principals of design, earth works and more. In this video though I just want to explain why I am doing this series and how permaculturerelates to modern survival thinking.
Awesome job Jack. I have been learning a lot from these videos…

Awesome video. I wish we all had this mentality. I often wonder what would happen if I happened to get stuck on a piece of property (for whatever reason) that had some sort of barrier to growing. What would I do? For that reason I have small project at a friend’s house in which I am growing under black walnut trees on soil that is in intense need of remediation. Try to challenge myself every year to defy conventions. You’re a good speaker and teacher. Thanks.

@NOLA556, no you are spot on. Audio snobs piss me off but the spots you are talking about are awful. I think I have it sorted now, we shall see with the next video. But google swivl (not a typo there is no e) it is pretty cool just learning how to get the best results with it right now.

@NOLA556, you are not the only one it drove me nuts too, I am using a new system called a Swivl for the iPhone it is cool but these were the first videos with it. The thing on my neck is a wireless mic, I guess I am loud as a speaker and blowing it out. I did a test vid after these with the mic clipped to my belt, seems much better. Also the video quality blows, I figured out why, the iPhone only shoots HD video out of the back side view.

Great video. Jack, the concepts that you have introduced through your podcast have benefitted my family and I in ways I can’t explain. Please keep up the great work.

@daveposh thanks for having an open mind. Keep in mind ref to your Agenda 21 comments. Agenda 21 is for centralized control, Permaculture is about local control. Agenda 21 is pro GMO nothing is more anti GMO then Permaculture. You give me an Agenda 21 tenet and I will show you Permaculture in direct opposition to it.

i cant wait. Your videos showed me alot of permaculture principals in action. I too started researching survivalism and then found the best way to survive is threw sustainability. I also just got some land in the mountains and will be doing some videos on how im turning my 3 acres into a permaculture food forest. Looking forward to the series and if you have time check out some of my videos i have done on growing food.

Looking forward to the series. Looking forward to seeing how you relate the permaculture information to a survivalist mentality.
