John from www.growingyourgreens.com helps his friends to build their raised bed garden. This is Part 5. Putting on the sides of the beds, laying down hardware cloth to prevent gophers and other critters, sheet mulching with cardboard and filling with compost and rock dust..
Do you think theres any danger of the hardware cloth corroding/breaking down?

No, that was my suggestion, which he DIDNT go for, against my recommendation. It would have been best for maximizing space, but I think he didnt want to “encroach” too much on his lawn.. I think IF he had to do it over, he has seen how beneficial a garden is and MAY do it differently and add the extra bed.

I thought in the first video Rick decided to have a 2 foot bed against the fence? That was a good idea for maximizing space.

Looks awesome! Keep an eye on the squash vine borer. Each evening, I have been scraping off the little eggs from mine.

So much fun and work starting a new bed. Good idea to keep one side unfinished to fill up.

That’s a good idea to keep the gofers out. How much was that stuff? I’m gonna tell my dad to get some, he has problems with gofers on his property.
