great video ! you did a wonderful job, best luck with all your gardens.
I love this idea. My daughter is only 2 1/2 and I make sure to always include her when cooking and gardening. She really gets into it, LOL. Now everytime she sees herbs she sniffs them says, Mmm! LOL
Thank you for this video. I can’t wait for my near 2 year old to learn to enjoy our land and the fruits of the labors we will put into it once he knows how to appreciate this time and effort. I couldn’t help but smile watching you and your son, thinking of the shared experiences I have yet to come. Thank you thank you. You made me smile in my heart.
Thanks so much! I will let the little guy know! (he always reminds me he is smart) lol
My mom lives in another state and she is really enjoying these videos.:)))
I was blown away when your little son started reading all that stuff. I’m amazed he reads already & even reads some big words as well. He is soo smart! I just love kids, esp little boys. I have so much fun with my little grandson. They say such funny things & make you feel young. I bet your mother feels the same way around her grandsons. =)
So do I, I just went out this morning to check on everything and my free seeds came up and was so excited. A type of summer squash I have never heard of nor grown before. Super excited.
It was so fun to watch you and your son planning and planting his garden 🙂 He did a great job!

He loves it ..as of today that is! He wants those seeds to grow grow grow LOL! I told him nothing will teach him patience like gardening. I confess, I put some pre-sprouted sugar peas in his bed. He was sooooo excited. Maybe I will tell him what I did in a few years.lol
What a nice compliment! I have always tried to home school my kids, eventhough they attend public school. Kid’s brains are like little sponges. I tried to set a good foundation for them at a very young age so they would have a head start when they actually began school. It kind of backfired, they were bored with school in the pre-k because they were so far ahead.HA Public schools for ya….My kids have had a few good teachers though. Florida schools were much better than North Carolina.
Donna, you’ve inspired me to finally do something I have kicked around for a long time: blog! And maybe, just maybe someday I will do a video too. 🙂 I’d love your thoughts if you decide to check it out. I know I have a lot to do to get the site looking right. I created the first post and added a couple links, that’s about it. Don’t know much of anything about blogging so I’ll learn as I go. Oh, looks like I can’t add the link. Oh well. Thanks for inspiring me! Have a wonderful weekend!
Sounds neat! I will check out his website. Why haven’t I tried Thai Basil jelly? I grow it every year…maybe I will give it a go this year.
No big deal about the video, just throw one out there! Once you get started, it’s all good. 🙂 I am thinking about learning Adobe so I can make my vids a little more fun! Another project…if I can get around to it.
Yeah my daughter is the same way. She gets all excited when she sees new cucumbers sprouting then sticks her finger to check it out. I plant extra just for Insurance hehe.
Oh! You can also make some delicious mint jelly too with all that mint in your garden. I made Thai basil jelly last summer that is delicious! Mint is on my to-do list as well as rosemary when I have enough to spare. I made some lemon thumbprint cookies with the Thai basil jelly and they were out of this world.
It’s really pretty easy to make wine, though I am really still an ametuer. It’s a FABULOUS way to use up excesses in the garden. Jack Keller’s wine making site has recipes for making all kinds of crazy things into wine. I was blown away when I saw it. I’ve never really made a video before and I am really chicken to try, though I have thought about it. There are tons of YT videos about how to make wine, from simply adding yeast and sugar to a bottle of juice to fully scratch made wine.
Now you will have to do a video on that wine!!! You should see how much mint I am growing this year. I need to do a container update soon. Pineapple mint, apple mint, orange mint, mohjito (where’s the spell check on this thing???) mint…I am going mint crazy. :)) thanks!
great video ! you did a wonderful job, best luck with all your gardens.

How sweet! They are like little sponges at that age. So good of you to expose her to lots of different things.
