Our heritage turkey flock

I raised standard bronze turkeys in Virginia in the 80’s and 90’s when there weren’t many left in the world. Now I am in Kenya with my family and we are raising local turkeys – two different types – one which are something like the standard bronze birds, but with black wings feathers instead of the usual black and white barring. They also have some white tips to their feathers. We also found and are raising a breed with looks something like Royal Palms, but may actually be Golden Palms because of some light brown in their feathers. These are new and unknown breeds to me and they may have been brought to Kenya by the British. We have also see the classic standard bronze turkeys here, and plan to get some soon to add to our flock.
