My Very First Worm Bin! Very Cheap Start-Up!

One thing about gardening or anything you have a passion for, there is always something new to learn, and it’s always a fun experience! And omg, I’m touching worms!!! Hahahaa! 🙂 The start-up worms I’ve gathered from my old raised-beds. They just came up from the ground and made a home. I decided to “farm” them so I don’t have to spend extra money buying compost/fertilizer! This is a very natural way of having a garden. If you don’t have worms in your lawn, it could be be because there are way too much chemicals in your dirt. Pesticides and herbicides will deter the worms from ever nesting in your lawn. 1. So you just used earthworms. The free earthworms I got always died, so I’ve decided to just leave them alone. I use red wigglers and they are perfect. But use what seems to work for you. Love the planter idea!!!

  18. They are not hard to manage at all. I’m glad that I started doing it and my plants are loving me even more. ^^ There’s possibility that the worms can escape to the bottom if there’s holes, but only if it’s directly into soil. They will not try to leave the container if it’s on concrete or other dry surface as they will die. Even still, if they are fed well in the bin, they wouldn’t want to leave. 😉

  22. Good work on the worm startup. Some people try to make worm farms sound complicated but as long as you follow a few simple ruels then keeping a wormfarm is easy.
