Question by seacook86: my grandson is asking me for two trained herd dogs for his goat farm. How do I deal with Hawaiian quarantine?
Grandson needs a herd dog and a guard dog. I have them in Oregon. How do I send them with the long quarantine that Hawaii has? They are employees of my goat farm and are trained working dogs.

  1. I think maybe you should call the airline company that you want to use to find out their regulations.

  2. A google search on Hawaiian canine importing would be my first choice, and see what their health department requires as well.

  3. Why doesn’t your Grandson purchase the dogs in Hawaii? Herding and guarding are two different things.

  4. By jumping through several hoops, you can bypass the quarantine. The website below gives you the requirements. It’ll still take a few months to get the dogs there and the tests can be expensive.
