Question by Lisa S: My 1 year old refuses to transition from soy formula to soy milk?
She just turned one and I’m trying to transition her over to soy milk (she’s allergic to dairy) but she will take a taste and gags! I also tried mixing it with formula but still same results! She won’t take it at all and will gag then throw it! Any advice would be highly appreciated!

You could try a different milk alternative like almond milk, rice milk, or even goats milk. Some people who are intolerant to cow’s milk can still safely consume goat’s milk so it is often a good choice for kids if they can tolerate it. If you want her to stick to soy for the most part then you could also try mixing it with a little bit of almond milk (which tastes better in my opinion) until she gets more accustomed to the flavor of the soy milk. Good luck!

My daughter was also on soy formula but does fine with regular milk.
If that doesn’t work then try lactose free milk or a different alternative milk like rice, goat, or almond milk.
Have you tried that stuff, it’s horrible.

Heres some advice… dont use soy milk! that stuff is terrible and i gag too. Almond milk or cocnut milk can be slightly less gross but coconut has a high fat content. if shes allergic then dairy is out of the question but if she just cant digest it (lactose intolerant) then she could get a milk with enzymes that make it easy to digest or lactose free milk.
