Look up Affnan on youtube…he has some very nice advancements going i pvc…
Looks like your having Fun with that system…I had problems with high pH until I started using RODI water. Found a unit on craigs list. It takes Tap water at 8.6 down to super clean water at 6.0. It is much easier to raise pH to what you want it at than it is to lower it. I use Hydrated Lime one week and Potassium Hydroxide the next to adjust pH to between 6.3 and 6.5. Fish don’t mind and plants love it. That was my solutions anyway. Be safe and take care.
Hydro seems to be working lots better than aquaponics. I bought strawberry plants & rinsed the roots & transplanted them into net cups.

Do you recommend aquaponics or the rail system for the strawberries, I really want to start those…also where did you get your seeds?

I had cucumbers in DWC and the PH kept climbing every day. I kept adding lemon juice and the water got cloudy and roots started to get moldy. After that I just stuck with using PH down. Nice strawberries…mmmmmm.

OH, MAN! That stinks! All that work down the literal drain. Thanks for airing your mistakes (and successes) publicly so we can learn. Getting ready to move my gardening to a new location where an aquaponics system is possible. Good thing to know before I get started.

Awww man, that’s right….I wouldn’t have even thought about that killing the beneficial bacteria….I’m sorry to hear that man! I’m really enjoying watching your videos, they are very informative and it will help me dramatically when I decide to build my own system. I may even want to give you a phone call when I get ready to build one if you’re open to that…it may help to shorten my learning curve and reduce my mistakes. Thanks for the vid, Wayne.
Thanks JWolf !
