Hopefully they will stop putting milk and milk by products into food that doesn’t have to have any. Using Lactose as a sugar and Whey for protein, is just wrong.
That’s not as bad as what’s in real milk. All sorts of different hormones, including growth hormones that are linked to colon, breast and prostate cancer. Not to mention all the blood and puss, but I guess the blood and puss isn’t as dangerous as all the chemicals they inject into cows to increase their production. If you look closely at anything that’s mass produced you’ll find some evil additives. I’m addicted to cheese though, so I won’t be switching to a more healthy alternative.
Dairy cows are not hamburger meat. You have never worked on a dairy farm or in the dairy business. More than 6 billion people drink milk (even in those wasteful developing countries), maybe they are not smart like you.
Effecient? Cows need food, water, and selter like people do thats a lot of energy and space. And hatever food source is gatherd need to bekept in a fridge.
High quality? Maybe if the cow was raised in a proper farm and not a factory farm.
Reliable? Sure who dosen’t like hamburgers.
Its not about going bacwards, but using our resources conservatively when producing our food. Crops that can give jus as much as cows can be done in larger amounts using the same amount of land and energy.
Never believe a crisis Congress makes for itself. Notice the hype here: “If we don’t pass this farm bill full of corporate welfare and pork right now and without debate, milk prices will soar”
Good observation, this is why conservatives hate so many progressive laws. When, in the end, they’re promoted by people like this who just want to see people act the way they do.
You can’t compare other species or mammals milk consumption to humans because they don’t know how to extract, pasturize and bottle milk like we can. Milk consumption (from any animal) should be judged based on its health merits to the human diet. We drink milk for calcium and protein. Soy milk is short of calcium and has a little less nutritional value than cows milk unless fortified (cows milk fortified with Vitamin D to help with the absorbtion of calcium), Almond milk is very short of protein
Cows are an effecient, reliable, high quality food source…of course we use them. Do you really think Manhattan could exist on a hunter/gatherer food system?
It’s not bullshit, it’s why Europeans even began drinking milk.
Africans don’t drink milk? really? then why the huge drive to get them goats for milking last year? Don’t be a racist idiot.
Once I found a good almond milk product I switched to that, and I love it. I love the Blue Diamond almond milk 60 calorie version. The vanilla flavored ones are horrible and Silk has a weird consistency to it, not sure how to describe it. The 40 calorie version isn’t very pleasant.
