Question by ~*<3J<3*~: Meal worm Farm indoors during Pregnancy?
I am currently pregnant and my husband is raising a meal worm farm IN the house. He has a big plastic box where he has the meal worms, corn meal, some old potatoes (for moisture) and hamster bedding. The box has holes punched in it for air. I am worried about the sanitation of it all though. Could that pose a risk in my pregnancy and is there any danger?
P.S. If he puts it outside, it will die.
P.S.S. The meal worms eventually turn into black beetles.

  1. I can’t see any problem it would cause, don’t men have the most amazing ideas about what is normally in someones house lol. I’ve got a bug room (my kids are bug mad) and inside there are rhino beetles, mantids, hissing cockroaches, giant millipedes, tarantulas and various other creepy crawlies and my doctor has said that there is no problem with it

  2. Ok weird one here..I had a red worm farm inside, and then I had a m/c…I am sure this did not cause it, but I could not get over it, so out they went..I know red worms are not the same, but I would stay away from it if I were you..I was the only one taking care of the red worms…They have been outside now for about two years and doing well..
