Ever thought of having a career or business outside the busy world? If you are tired of pollution, traffic, rush hours, noisy streets, and bosses looking over your shoulder, then find a business that you can do outside the city. Start your business keeping goats!

Goat keeping is a thriving business as demand for fresh goats milk is increasing everyday. More and more manufacturers buy goats milk since they need it to produce cheese, yoghurt, and soap which are staple products in the market.

Goat farming is a fun job, goats are very sociable animals therefore they are also good companions. Your farm will be clear from shrubs and other unnecessary plants since your goats can take care of them for free. Goats are small animals unlike cows and other animals. Therefore they take up less space and keeping them is less risky since the price is lesser.

Keeping the goats healthy is very easy and finding feed for them is easier since only small quantity is required. They can mature faster and they have a very high fertility rate which means that if you want to make your herd grow in number, then it won’t take a lot of time. Caring for them will take less than an hour a day. You can just let them roam freely around your farm but you need to provide fresh clean water at all times. In buying feeds you need to select those that have sufficient amount of nutrients and good level of protein based on grains.

To be successful in your goat farming you also need to protect them from harsh weather and wild animals. You can do this by building them a sturdy shelter and strong fences. Make sure to provide enough room in the shelter, each goat needs at least 6 square meters of space.

If you have a farm based on plants, goats will be a good addition to them. The unwanted plants that you have to take care of manually can be used as feeds for the goats. Goats can also provide you with good fertilizer for your plants therefore your plants and goats are helping each other. This way you will save on cost of cleaning your farm, as well as save on cost for feeds. Just make sure that when your goats are roaming freely, they are fenced away from your plants since they have a tendency to eat everything.

If you have more than what you need in terms of their numbers, then you can sell unwanted young goats for meat purpose. Take note of their weight as heavier goats mean more revenue for you.

These are just some advantages you can derive in having goats in your farm. Once you begin raising goats, I’m sure you will be able to identify more.
