Good ideas! Worm farms help reduce waste to land fill and the worms’ good work helps keep the soil healthy! The City of Encinitas looking to reduce amount of waste going to landfill made a one time offer to residents to purchase a worm farm at a discount. mind42.com
I have euro’s and red worms. IN separate bins, what is an easy way to tell a difference between them?

Wow, that kit up would be no use to me. My worms are far too fat to get through those little holes. Some of my worms are 18 inches long and as thick as a pencil.
They need a GIANT worm farm 🙂

@ddaannm2 Myself, I use two very cheap plastic buckets, one nested in the other. The nested one has a bunch of holes drilled in it for water seepage. Easy. Cheap. $20 USD tops. 30 minutes of drilling if you are slow 🙂 Done. Put some moist newspaper at the bottom, some dirt, some old food stuff, some more dirt and some worms. You’ll have a worm box. Lots to read about worms and worm management online. Charles Darwin’s last book was about worms. It’s a good read.

@beymaster20111 Yeah, but the milk has been cooked… I’ve put rinds of dead cheese in my worm box and there was no smell/pest problems.

Hey people. If you want worm do do, it can be purchased online. You can buy a 30 lb bag for like 30 bucks. commercially it is called “Wiggle Worm Soil Builder”. One cup per plant is the general rule. A little goes a long ways. There is no waiting and the fertizer you need now is just in the bag. If you want a hobby then make a worm farm. If you want fertilizer, buy Wiggle Worm Soil Builder. My 2 cents.

If you rub the castings all over your face your skin will be as soft as a baby’s belly. Check it out and please, please, please post a video of the whole process. Better hurry before I do it first.

the paper is a great ideia but you should avoid using coloured paper, inked paper, glossy paper, etc… c’os inks, toner and inkjet printings must have a lot of heavy metal and other toxic materials… you’ll be contaminating your soil….

Dont use tomato or citrus fruits. worms dont like it and citrus rind leads to moulding.
