  2. I will answer your question with questions. Do you have a client base? What kind of worms are you planning to raise? what purpose do they serve? who will need them? How will you market them? How do you plan to ship them? does the cost, hours of labor etc equal the return? Where will you advertise? How much will that cost? What weather conditions do you need to successfully raise worms? Are those conditions present in Santa Cruz? where will you get your starting inventory?

When you have answers to all these questions, you will know if Santa Cruz is a good place for a worm farm. Good luck. I hope you get a good grade on your project.

PS Earthworms love used coffee grounds.

  3. To answer your question: This is a class project, not your live’s ambition….so why not? You’d need to find a remote area of Santa Cruz city & start digging. However, since it’s for a business, think. It’s expensive to buy land there & how much can you get for a worm? Somewhere outside of a major city, like out in the country is best. Outside of California would be even better, where land is cheaper! Just don’t try it in a desert or Alaska–no worms there. Pick a place like Washington, Oregon. So, I’d say no. Peek at these site:
